Terry Hamrick set to visit Mallie.
« on: April 29, 2010, 04:23:08 PM »
Terry with grandson Isambard.

Terry Hamrick is going to be in PA on May, 7th to visit with Mom and plans to do some recorded interviews with her about her memories of the Hamrick family as she and his Dad, Joe (her brother) were growing up. Uncle Joe served in the US Navy during WWII and there is lots of history that Mom can recount about him for the interview.

Terry has said that he plans to submit the interviews to the National Archives and this is very exciting news for all of us who like to keep up with family history.
He has also said that he'll give us copies for posting here and that is exciting news as well.  :2thumbs:

I hope the picture came through.

Aunt Mallie and I had an excellent visit on Friday. Thanks Yvonne for the support.

We talked about her growing up, how she started with painting/drawing, and about my father, Joe. I learned a lot which I'll document for you as I work through the recordings.

There is about 2 hours of recorded conversation to review and edit (lots or background noise) which I'll work through over the next few days and will post (soon as I work-out how to do that).

Sounds great Terry.  :bigthumb:

I just talked to Mom and she is very happy with your visit and the talks and recordings that you did.
You said that you "hope the picture came through", if you are trying to post a picture with your reply you can use the 'TinyPic' icon to upload and post your picture, it works great.

We also have a pictures gallery that you can use if you wish, if you need any tips on how it (or anything) works just let me know.

We are all looking forward to hearing your recordings and I would like to post a lot of your work here on the FamilyForum, plus at some point it would be nice to pull everything together on a CD or DVD so that it can be mailed out to all of Moms kids/grandkids and anyone else who wants a copy. (I've done that from time to time with her works)

When you are ready let me know and we can solve any issues that may come up for posting your work.  :bigthumb:

Ps: Mom said that you gave her a device (MP3 player?) that had some of Uncle Joe's singing on it... how much of that do you have? I would love to have copies of anything you have of him, or any of the other family members. We had lots of great musicians and singers in the family.
