I've not tried that one yet, but may do so soon.
My outlook on the portal/cms software's that are available hasn't really changed after Bloc's announcement about future development of TinyPortal and the TP support site. If he closes the TP.net site and moves all support to the SMF site that will cause the TP support to fall off by a lot and the sites that use portals will begin to move to the other portals even more so, but for those who are willing to, or able to, live with that diminished level of support I see TP being viable far into the future... as in years possibly. It all comes down to the SMF versions and whether it changes to a point where TP won't work with it anymore.
I've tried most all of the portals and just do not see any of them as being a good replacement for TP. Of those that are currently out there my pick might be SimplePortal, but I don't really like any of them because they all fall short in a comparison to TP.
We'll see how it works out over time and things often do change unexpectedly, but for now I see TP being used for a long time to come here on the FF.
As for the testing part... you are right to do that Steve, anyone who runs a site should always be testing any that are available so that whatever happens they are ready to make changes if and when the need arises.
