Kay pointed me to this nice video about a rescued humming bird... you'll enjoy it.  :2thumbs:

This is a baby hummingbird I rescued after it was attacked. The song is "Better Together" by Jack Johnson.

Since we seem to be the adoptive parents of so many humming birds, I just love the video that Ken put a connection to  , on the web site.I have to buy 10 lbs of sugar every two weeks, during the summer, for those beautiful, amazing creatures of God's creation....Such energetic little beauties.........So frail, but yet so strong.

Very cute! We have a lot of birds here but I can't recall seeing any hummingbirds. Hmmm, I'm supposed to be going back to the bird sanctuary this weekend. Maybe I'll see some there.

We have  a lot of them. One year we estimated about 35.They are hard to tell apart, but as usual, the male species stands out. They are usually very colorful with reds and greens.Very vibrate colors...We have a lot of tiny females this year.Must be babies..Ken had one in his hand the other day as it could not get out of the garage. It was trying to get out of one of the windows in the garage. They fly around Ken a lot, out in the garage.I can tell the ones that have been here before as they stare at me through the window above the kitchen sink. Please,do not let the feeders get empty. They harass you through the windows. They will follow you, window to window until you fill the feeders again.....You have to clean the feeders and fill them up every other day.....Kind of like having kids.
They are so interesting to watch and their wings are so loud. They hover around you and it is hard not to swat at them, as a natural defense....I can hear their wings through a double pane window.......
They are so amazing to watch. We watch them a lot.Waiting for one, who has a bad leg,to come back.Maybe we can get some pictures of them.Took some a couple of years ago,but it was hard to take the pictures as they move so fast......

Yeah, you'd have to wait for them to feed or to rest to get half a chance at a good shot. Thanks for the story, Kay. :)

Can't decide if I want to go today to see the birds (while the kids are in school and it will be quieter) or wait until tomorrow and let them in on the fun and having a much noisier experience. LOL
