OK, the Users Online 2.0.3 is installed.

Hmmm, seems to be a problem with it using this WorkDesk3 theme Ken, probably missing some edits or something.

Hmmm, my avatar seems to be missing as well. I thought that I uploaded it but maybe I didn't.

There are problems and issues throughout, but I've not felt up to spending extended periods of time sorting through the code in the various packages, files, ect. to get it sorted out. As mentioned elsewhere, my mental skills have diminished somewhat of late... not trying to sound pitiful, but suffice to say 2013 was a little rough on my old ass. wink1

2013 was pretty rough for me as well Ken, as well as January, 2014. :P On the Users Online Today Mod, here's the deal. The following file operations didn't get done during the install. Those files shown below contain the missing language strings ...

Quote
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.english.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.english-utf8.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.danish.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".

Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.portuguese_brazilian.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.portuguese_brazilian-utf8.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.portuguese_pt.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.portuguese_pt-utf8.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.hungarian.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.hungarian-utf8.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.german.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.german-utf8.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.spanish.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".

Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.spanish_latin.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".

Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.russian.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".

Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.turkish.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.turkish-utf8.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.persian.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.persian-utf8.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".

Since you are only using only English here, the only one that is required is the one I bold-faced above ...

Quote
Move the included file "lang/UsersOnlineToday.english.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".

That file is missing from the default theme, Curve, as well as from the Workdesk3 and Argentum theme. However, it should only need to get copied to the default languages folder and the other edits should read those themestrings from there. I don't know why those file operations didn't get done during your install of the Mod, unless you installed it manually or something and forgot to move those files.

Thanks for that ZP. :thumbup:
Made that file upload and it appears to work correctly in WorkDesk3 now, but it not showing up at all in the other themes.
My guess is that it needs a manual install to get it corrected for all themes.

You're probably right Ken. I've actually been looking at the other themes, or at least Argentum2. The problem with that one might be that Bloc's BoardIndex.template.php for that theme doesn't have the necessary line that the Mod needs to insert the correct code. For that reason, the install would have failed even if you had tried to install it with the Package Manager. I'll explain that tomorrow a little better but that's enough for tonight.

BTW, you are aware that you have that Argentum2 theme installed twice, right? One is theme #81 and the other one is theme #93, I believe. At least I think it is without looking again.

The duplicate issue comes about (I think) because of this current version of OFF is setup with new SMF files and new TinyPortal files but has the last available database copy installed and that is from December 2012.

The database is good in that it gives us all of the old posts, member base and other historical content (like TP articles, ect.) however... at the same time the database looks for stuff that is no longer there, or not installed correctly as in the case of Users Online Today.

EDIT: We should probably deleted all of the outdated themes so the database stops looking for them.

The ones that are not working are due to them not being removed from SMF in the admin not the db. The db does not look for anything but holds the info. SMF is looking for it cause it show it is installed and was not deleted. Also, when you delete a theme, the folder for it on the server is not deleted and must be done manually. That is probably why the theme shows twice.

I've deleted the FTP info for your hosting so I can't see the files.

Yeah, the duplicate theme folder for Argentum2 should probably be deleted, if for no other reason, to avoid doing double work. :happy1:

Those always confuse me when I go to look at the folders later. LOL

EDIT: Got over 1300 errors in the log. Most appear to be TP-related...

This latest version of TP has some issues that Brad is working on... I haven't been following along too closely, guess I had better check on the current status.

I'll set up another ftp account.

But I do not have those...unless you are talking about the unreleased version yet to come...

Did you install TP first before other mods? It is always best to do that first...largest mods first.

It's an unreleased version I think.

It may end up needing a reload of the SMF files and then TP and the other Mods after that... but maybe we should wait until this latest TP goes public.

Did a manual install for the Users Online Today Mod and it's now working in all themes except for Argentum2...
The code for the 'BoardIndex.template.php' file was missing and once it was added to the file the Mod seems to work OK.
That was very difficult for me to do, my mind was jumping around some, need to focus better when doing code. :o

Deleted all of the broken themes and the duplicate of Argentum2.

Fixed Online Today in the Argentum2 theme! :happy1:

The code for the 'BoardIndex.template.php' had to be added to the themes own copy of that file because it was not picking it up from the Default theme. The display has it showing above the area where it should be, but I'm not going to try to move the code to correct... it works, so it's OK as is.

Code: [Select]
<file name="$themedir/BoardIndex.template.php">
<operation>
<search position="after">// If they are logged in, but statistical information is off... show a personal message bar.
</search>
<add> // Users Online Today
echo '

', $txt['uot_users_online_'.$modSettings['uot_setting_period']], '

';
echo
$txt['uot_total'], ': ', $context['num_users_online_today'], '';

if ($context['viewing_allowed'])
echo
' (', $txt['uot_visible'], ': ', ($context['num_users_online_today'] - $context['num_users_hidden_today']), ', ', $txt['uot_hidden'], ': ', $context['num_users_hidden_today'], ')';

// Assuming there ARE users online... each user in users_online has an id, username, name, group, href, and link.
if (!empty($context['users_online_today']) && $context['viewing_allowed'])
{
echo
'
', implode(', ', $context['list_users_online_today']);
}
echo '

';

</add>
</operation>
</file>
