Got this when clicking the link:

Quote
You need to enable javascript in order to play games.

However, if you click "Play" while on that screen the game will play.

Got the front page of this site when clicking the button on the image. I assume the rest of the new game topics will do the same? Will check and see.

EDIT: Yup! Does the same but not sure why... It uses the same link or is it just me who has the problem?  :hah:

Something about the image is not working right, so I removed it from the first post.

On the 'You need to enable javascript in order to play games' error/issue... I've been seeing that here and in other sites as well.

You are not supposed to edit the auto-post.

It uses html which can't be executed when you edit and resave.

If you are trying to edit how it displays in a post, navigate to: Sources / Subs-ArcadeAdmin.php
... go to the end of the file and you will find:
Code: [Select]
function PostGames($topicName,$gameid)
{

... code to edit ....

}

Edit what is in the function.

I did a silent update to correct the high score screen in the popup.

Download the attached file and replace:
Sources / ArcadeGame.php

I have tested this locally, on 2 other peoples live sites and my own site.  It appears to be working just fine.

I just tested this by installing a few games for game-in-post and also just text.
It works perfectly fine.

Like I said, don't edit the post... edit the function that I referenced in the last post.
Put the link on the left or wherever.

Personally I like the game-in post option but it's your preference.
If it is just the title screen you wish to change, I can give you some instruction on how to create your own.

Converting images (not gif) to swf: Sothink Quicker  (not free)
Converting video to swf: SUPER (freeware!!)
Converting images (quickly) to swf: MyTheme.com Animator  (free online editor - limited on image size)

There is another really good tool called IMAGE2SWF that is similar to the MyTheme Animator but allows gif and unlimited image sizes. Unfortunately it is not free anymore and I can't seem to find an older free version anywhere.

Popup screen-saver File to replace:
 Themes / default / images / arc_icons / game_popup_saver.swf

Just changed the ArcadeGame.php... also changed the game_popup_saver.swf to endless art.

As for changes... actually I like it just the way it is now, but was trying to edit the topic title, plus trying to figure out why clicking the image sends you to the index page instead of loading the game. Not a biggie because a reply could be posted to the topic if additional info needs to be added, like a name clarification... etc.

The play button above the game activates it.
That default swf file has a link in it that displays 'SMF ARCADE' and just directs the user to the forum index page.

The display clearly states to push the PLAY button btw.

The endless art is a good one but I have to figure out how to get the javascript to start with the wider display.
I know quite a bit of php now but only a little bit of javascript. I have to do a lot of trial and error to get it (javascript code) to work the way I want.

btw the popup code is also a rewrite for the jeza template.  its popup display now uses (shares) the same code and is now improved with this mod.

... don't forget to clear your browsers history to view the new popup-saver.
If you don't do this, your browser will display the file from its cache.

The problem is with the way Niko set up the install of games for SMF Arcade 2.5.

SMF Arcade 2018 has a different install for games where you can edit some of the game info (including the name) directly during installation.

SMF Arcade 2.5 just uses the swf files name (minus the swf).
For a future version I may put in an option to alter the game install to include editing game names (for single game installs).
I will most likely just use the older function and edit it for smf arcade 2.5 database variables.

This mod also allows posting games using bb codes or a php portal block.  :danban:

You can use a game id, game name, game file name or RAND to execute a game.
