Just checked the size of one of the pictures and it's pretty large Steve...  1600x1200px and the file size is 1.64MB. Just one at that size will cause a significant increase in page load time. Try resizing your pics to 900x600 and see if that helps.

Here's a copy of the one I tested and resized, it's now 900x675px and 492KB, so it should load lots faster and if you compare the copy in your post and this one the visual quality is about the same.

LOL, I forgot about that! I usually resize them in Paint.net but was using Lightroom and just didin't think about it.  :thud:

EDIT: Nope, it's Tinypic... I just tried it and it's taking forever to load when you click on the tinypic icon. The site takes a few minutes to load.

EDIT #2: Wrong again... It's the Darkmoor theme. Might even be my image in the header...not sure. On a hunch, I switched to the core theme and no problems. To make sure, I tried a different theme (Envision) and also, no problems. Went back to Darkmoor and the problems came back.  :yikes:

Crap! It's still doing it off and on.  :thud: Anyways...this pic has been resized and edited for color corrections using Lightroom.

Tinypic is having issues. I went to their website and was messing around and got the same lag as here. It's off and on...

Lucky me found a hawk sitting on my neighbor's fence yesterday...2 houses away! Lealer saw it out of the kitchen window and said, "Oh! I wonder what kind of bird that is?" I took a look and couldn't believe it! I've never seen one that close before. I took a few shots through the window but they came out as if it was foggy outside and a little out of focus. Might have been that the windows needed to be cleaned a bit???  :opps:

Well, I took a chance and decided to put on my jacket and go outside to see if it would still be there...after all of that and seriously doubting that it would still be there.  :beg: I went out my front door and walked around to the back of the house and it was still there! I took a shot of it just as I turned the corner to the back of my house in hopes of getting at least one half-decent shot before it flies away. But it didn't. In fact, it allowed me to get closer and closer to it to take more pics. It's head jerked about as small birds flew past it but it did not do anything but scratch itself.  :hah:

The only thing I did to these photos was to crop them to get rid of my neighbor's back yards.  :hah:

Tomorrow morn, I'm going to another workshop and taking my grandfather along since he went and bought the same kind of camera. He wants to learn how to use it also. I'll let you know how it went. :)

Tonight I'm taking the kids to Gring's Mill, at Penn State's Berks campus, where we took the photos of the heron, turtles, etc. The have it decorated for Christmas and I'm going to take some pics to try out my night skills.

I took a lot of shots and it was beautiful there. The pics do not convey the beauty of the scenery. I have to look them over and then I'll post some.
