Leatherheads... The Movie!
« on: March 31, 2007, 02:04:11 PM »
Hey! We got us a movie in the front yard!!!
Well almost anyways!  :disted:

The movie crew for Leatherheads is setting up for some scenes that they will be shooting this coming Tuesday and Wednesday, April 3-4.
It looks like they will be using several vintage rail passenger cars as part of the set because they have moved in about 4 of them to the tracks that are located about 600-800 feet from our house.

The folks who live at the corner of our street have rented them their back yard to use for setting up the lunch trucks for the cast and crew, there are supposed to be several hundred people eating lunch there so that back yard should really be beat down when they are through!

There are a few pictures posted in the Gallery in the new album called Leatherheads? what else would it be called???
More details and more pictures later... gpa

Ps: Here are some of the links for the movie:
http://www.clooneystudio.com/movies/leatherheads.html

Oscar winners George Clooney and Rene Zellweger match wits in "Leatherheads," a rapid-fire romantic comedy set against the backdrop of America's pro-football league in 1925.

Clooney plays Dodge Connolly, a swaggering, aging football hero who is determined to guide his team from bar brawls to packed stadiums. But after the players lose their sponsor and the entire league faces certain collapse, Dodge convinces a college football star to join his ragtag ranks. The captain hopes his latest move will help the struggling sport finally capture the country's attention.

Got a little closer this time.
The crew is doing setup on the old rail cars, installing awnings and some other stuff that I didn't figure out yet.

Not a lot of action going on today, it looks like the setup is all done and they are just waiting for the film crew.
The last word we had was that the filming will start tomorrow morning and that they will be at it by 4:30-5:00 AM!

Thats a bit early, but I'll try for a few shots.  :disted:

Todays pictures turned out kind of sad... I waited untill late in the day and then shot from the wrong direction.

An "Unnamed Source"!
« Reply #6 on: April 03, 2007, 11:09:15 AM »
It?s starting to get busy again today with lots more crew in attendance and they are unloading more and more equipment.

Dominic is spending the day with me and we?ve been down to the set a couple of times so far and this last time at about 11:00AM we met one of the staffers and I had a long conversation with her.
She tells me that they are not allowed to release any information about the movie or the schedules or what they are doing, so all that she told me is ?off the record? and I must refer to her as an unnamed source.

Here?s some of what we learned on this outing:
Today is for more setup and testing of equipment and also this is the day that they will bring in an old Steam Engine that will be used to pull the old rail passenger cars up and down the tracks. There is an overpass a short distance up the tracks from here and they will go back and fourth between here and that overpass as they shoot some interior scenes.

We also learned that they plan to be shooting all day tomorrow and that the ?real? movie stars will be in attendance for these scenes and that this day of shooting is a ?big deal? part of the movie. We learned as well that there will be super tight security? but we knew that because it already is pretty tight.

More later? gpa

Lights, Camera, Action!!!
« Reply #8 on: April 04, 2007, 06:30:55 AM »
Now you know I just had to say that!  :yahoo:

Actually there?s not all that much going on at 6:30AM, I went down to take a look the first time at about 4:15AM and only a few of the Teamsters were stirring plus a large group of Sheriffs Deputies who will be part of the security team.

On this second trip down there are lots more people scurrying around and the train engines are running but that?s about it except for the flood light engines? they have this whole area lit up like a Friday night football game!

Oh... I did notice that the food tent has lots of flower arrangements sitting around, looks really nice.

More later? gpa

gpa's starting to get a little closer to the action!
During the time we were in the breakfast tent we met a few of the cast members, like... ummm... Ren?e? Or maybe not!!!
Several of the people who were at the shoot had said that it absolutely is a picture of Ren?e, but I asked one of the crew that sets up the chairs for the stars to sit in and he said "Nope, she's not even here today, that lady is just one of the extras.

I kept getting conflicting opinions all day, so what's your vote??? is it Ren?e? Or is it not?  :disted:

Ren?e's response... "Sure you can take my picture!"  :danban:
... they even let me direct them into this pose

Here's a link to an article about Clooney buying lemonaid from one of the kids down the street.
