Some of you may remember the trailer we used to haul the lumber that was featured in the 'Tons of Lumber' series that I posted a couple of years ago, well here's a little update for ya!
Because we no longer have any use for the trailer I'm fixing it up a little so that we can sell it. The two main things to be fixed was the decking boards and to do some fresh paint.
My friend Stan, who lives a mile or so away, has a nice shop where we did the work and Stan also did the spray painting.
For the paint he mixed up some leftover automotive paint that he had in the back room and ended up with the wonderful orange color that you see in the pictures.
Stan also supplied the lumber and if you look in the one picture that was taken from the back of the trailer you can see just how big the boards are, most of them are 12 inches wide by 14 feet long and all of them are 1 3/4 inches thick. And... they are all white oak!!! Most are also clear, I think that there was only about 5-6 knots total in the whole deck.
Go down to your local lumber yard and most likely they won't have anything close to these in size so you'll have to look it up on the internet to find wood like this. :bigtmb:
