Kays Garden!
« on: May 07, 2007, 08:08:00 AM »
Kay is off to a good start with her garden!
As of 05/07/07 the corn and cabbage are coming up and the celery just may be starting to come up. (hard to tell for sure) and the tomatoes are looking great, she's still waiting on the beans to sprout though.

We goina be eating good soon!!!  :danban:

My garden is doing great. My corn is up that I planted last week and the green beans.Onions are poking through.I just love it. I planted about 30 cabbage yesterday. I crawled on my hands and knees to plant them. They are looking good.I'm sure that nobody is too excited about this, but I am. Our apple trees and the grapes are blooming too.  Love, Grandma...........

Hello Everyone!!!!!I think that I have found my calling....Planting gardens. Not the weeding part, though. It is pure hell on these old bones to weed the garden. Yesterday I spent three hours weeding and I was also covered with mud. From head to toe.The ground was very wet from the rain the day before....I pulled up weeds and grass galore. I left them there to buy this little rake today to rake them out with, but they will have to stay in another day as it is too wet as it rained again last night.I thought about it all day at work, but after I got home with this special little rake, Ken said the garden was way too wet.Maybe I can recover from hurting here and there and every where after yesterday. I have a beautiful garden..I am so proud. I think my Dad would be proud of my growing abilities also........I welcome comments......Love, Kayn  Grandma,Aunt,whatever...

How much do you think it would cost to ship a jar of pickles to the left coast? Getting VERY hungry looking at the garden.....

Don't know about the cost son, shouldn't be to much though.

We had mixed results with the quality and taste of the pickles, this was our first try at doing the canning process so we were learning as we went along. Some of them are really good, some are not so good.
