FarmVille [Getting Started]
« on: September 04, 2009, 07:57:04 AM »
Hey FarmVille Farmers!  :08:
After getting a request from one of our members I've put together this short little how-to for getting started in the FarmVille game. It's like lots of things... it's easy once you know how but a few tips are always nice to have when you're first starting off and hopefully this fill the need for you.

The info for this guide was put together using the resources of the FarmVille Help Pages, the FarmVille Forums and my own experience. You can use this info to get started building your farm and then as you learn how to work your farm you'll begin to do things in your own way of course.

When you start playing the FarmVille game you'll not have very many planting plots or anything else on your farm and this set of Tips will help you build up your inventory and your cash so that you can buy all those neat looking decorations for your farm.  :bigthumb:
*As you get started the most important thing you should be doing is filling all of your available space with planting plots!

We'll use this image of your FarmVille CP (control panel) to point out the various functions listed below the image.

Making more planting plots: ... the more plots the more potential income
You do this by clicking on the hoe and then clicking in the green, or grassy areas of your farm... just make sure you have a well thought out plan for where to place your plots so as to not waste space because the more plots the more income. (you can always change plots around later if need be)
I like to start in a corner and not out in the middle of the open field and make sure my plots are tight against each other and lined up evenly instead of scattered around all over the place.  :up2some:
Remember that making more planting plots will cost you 15 coins for each plot so keep track of your coins inventory and strike a balance between how many plots you make and your crops that are planted because the planting will have a cost as well.

As you can see in this picture of Ryan's farm, he's making use of every available space on his farm to get the maximum return from his crops.

Planting a Crop
After you've made your planting plots it's time to plant and you do that by going to the 'Market' icon in your CP and selecting the crop you want to plant. Each crop has a grow time and the time will range from 2 hours to several days for a given crop so you'll need to plan crops that will fit into your work or school schedule. You can see some strategy tips On this Page.

Harvesting:
In this last image you'll see where I'm getting ready to harvest my bananas, this is where you get your return for all that work on your plots and the planting.  :bigthumb:
Be sure to do your harvesting on time because if you wait too long the crop will spoil and be lost!
Enjoy... GPa
