Additional Membergroups and Permissions:
« on: August 07, 2010, 05:33:45 PM »
Been playing around with additional membergroups and permissions to see how easily they could be used for specialized admin functions.

I first started thinking about doing this because of This Topic over on the SMF Arcade forums.
Basically, the idea is to add a member into an additional membergroup and give that group the access permissions that you want them to have. As an experiment I've made a group called 'Arcade Admin' and added our FamilyForum's resident Arcade expert, Skhilled, to that group. So, Steve when you get a chance to look let me know if the access is OK for managing the Arcade.

One note; I also added Jake to the group as a test and it looks like the access is there, but you will not be able to see the admin links the Arcade cp, so as an example if you wanted to go to the 'Edit Games' cp you would need to manually enter the url.
