Just for fun we've installed the Advanced Reputation System here on the FamilyForum, it gives you the ability to earn reputation points and give out points to other members.
Some of the settings:
You earn 10 points each time you post
You earn 30 points each time you start a new topic
Users gain 1 power for every 100 points...
example; hover over my green bar image and you'll see my current 'power'Users gain 1 bar image (
) for every 500 points
Welcome new members with how many points? 100
Surprise a member with how many points on their birthday? 100
How many times a day can a person give reputation? 10
How many people does a user have to give reputation to before they can repeat a person? 3
Here's a quote of some of the listed features:
o Reputation sent is now based on the giver's reputation
o Popup box can be activated in posts wherein reputation can be sent with a comment
o Members can view their own reputation by going to action=profile;sa=reputation
o :: Moderators (or anyone with permission) can delete reputation actions on this screen
o Reputation can be given per post, per thread, on account birthday, and on registration
o and more!
Here's the way it works...
When viewing a topic look under the Avatar of each member you'll see a
icon and if you click on the Heart you'll be able to add to that members Reputation.
When you click on the Heart you'll get a text box where you can inter your comments and then submit your reputation points to the member. As you can see it lets you post 'I Agree' or 'I Disagree' and then add any comments you wish. Please keep in mind that your comments will be attributed to you and can be seen in that members profile by the member plus all other members who might look at the profile, so don't be mean spirited...
