There is a store around here that sells fresh fish and you can have them fry it for you for free while you wait. Catfish, cod, flounder, tilapia and maybe one or 2 others are the choices you get. The fish is very good and they also fry some and package it and put it on the cold shelf for sale. You can get 2 pretty big pieces of fish for about $5-6. Not a bad deal at all.
I stop in there about once per week or so and get the prepackaged ones cause I usually come through too early (when I'm coming home from work in the morning) to get it fried fresh. They are still good nonetheless. All you have to do is put them under the broiler at a few minutes per side.
Normally, I make a tartar sauce to eat with them. The last time I had some I made honey mustard. So, when I bought some more for last night's dinner I decided to make tartar sauce again since I had honey mustard last time. I added the ingredients and whisked them while running back to the stove to check on the fish and fries that were cooking. I tasted it and thought it tasted very good but a bit different than usual. That is when realized that my tartar sauce was yellow! :funny:
I had inadvertently add the ingredients for honey mustard and tartar sauces in the same bowl!!!
BUT, it was really good and everyone enjoyed it!
