They taste like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup bar. You'll probably get fat eating these.
Makes: 24 bars
Total time: 1 hour + cooling
Ingredients:2 cups AP flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. table salt
1 stick (8 Tbsp.) butter, softened
1 1/4 cups creamy peanut butter
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup golden syrup
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
3/4 cup heavy cream
12 oz. milk chocolate bar, finely chopped
1/4 cup chopped dry-roasted peanuts (optional)
Directions:Preheat oven to 350° F. Coat a 9x13 inch pan with nonstick spray.
In a small bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder and salt then set aside.
Cream peanut butter, butter, and brown sugar with a mixer until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add golden syrup, eggs, and vanilla and beat until incorporated. Add flour mixture and mix until just combined. Spread batter into prepared pan.
Bake bars until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 25-30 minutes. Let bars cool completely before topping with ganache, about 1 hour.
Heat cream in a small saucepan until steaming. Do not boil! Put chocolate in a small bowl and pour hot cream over it. Cover the bowl and let sit for 5 minutes then whisk until smooth. Pour ganache over bars and sprinkle with peanuts, if using. Let ganache set up, about and hour. Cut into 24 bars.
Enjoy!
