Back to windows 7
« on: April 15, 2016, 09:22:12 AM »
I reverted my main PC to windows 7 again ... may keep it that way!
There are some things I like about the Win 10, but it has some baggage ware, that you can not get out, at least without allot of hazel and or the risk of damaging the OS.

I'll keep the Windows 10 on my laptop for now!

I think Windows 10 needs allot of work and less junk included, It bad enough you need to keep IE :(
 let's see hjow it goes?

regards,
Maxx

That's a shame Maxx.  I'm quite enjoying Windows 10 now that it's settled down a bit.

Out of curiosity, what problems were you having with it?  In other words, what does Win 7 do that Win 10 can't?

My main laptop still has Win 10 and it's working good for me, the only complaint is the update system. I don't mind the auto update part, just the idea that you cannot schedule the update to take place at an hour that you choose for yourself... like 3AM would work for me.

On my older laptop Win 10 was just too much for the older hardware I think, so it was reverted.

I run many programs and browsers at the same time and windows ten will not take it, lags hangs up and crashes. Pls Keep in mind I know computers and mine is well built by me. Win 10 also collects allots of junk files. There are many other little things but, don't want write a book, I'm also on the Insider program for windows and test there RC releases and they seem to be getting worst.

Now if you are the typical PC user.. it should do well for you, and have not so many issues! :)

I have tons of software installed, and run many at once!

Works great on my Laptop, I use for basic stuff!

regards,
Maxx

I have to agree that it does run a bit slow at times which is frustrating...

I would consider myself a typical user to be frank.  That said I do run a lot of programs at the same time, photo editing video editing, and some Daws and amp sims.  And a couple of online games.  (that's what I have running now as I type this) These are all fairly resource hungry.  The only thing I won't touch unless I really have to is Edge. what a pile of crap that is lol.. talk about slowing things up.

I run the different apps in their own virtual desktops using (Task View) and don't have any problems on four machines. two laptops and two desktops.  They run equally as well as they did on win 7, except they boot much faster and shutdown faster.

I wouldn't run insider versions on a PC that I rely on to be honest. it's going to have bugs, so I tend to give that a miss. ;)

I don't have problem running multiple programs. My issues are slower loading even with the File Manager. After they load they run fine but loading programs is turning out to be a big issue.
