Topic: My first project

Supposed to be planters, so far I am not happy,
I used old pallets to make them so they do look rough lol

Looking rough isn't an issue for me, it's called rustic and is more natural looking.

The only possible problem I see is the bottom on the inside. Too many open spaces for dirt and water to go right through unless you want it like that for drainage. In that case, nevermind... LOL

The inside will be lined with plastic, and the boards at the bottom supposed to be like that for drainage.

I agree with Steve and as a first project it looks pretty good. 

Here's a 'pro' tip... for your screws it may be useful to pre-drill a hole for the screws using a bit like the one below. Pre-drilling helps in avoiding splits in your boards.

I agree with Steve and as a first project it looks pretty good. 

Here's a 'pro' tip... for your screws it may be useful to pre-drill a hole for the screws using a bit like the one below. Pre-drilling helps in avoiding splits in your boards.

I already have something like that in a kit that Lisa got me.

The next one I will use a nail gun, just got me a second hand one for £10 ($13) Oh and I got me a second hand chainsaw too lol

On the chain saw... they can be extremely dangerous! 
If you already know how to safely use one that's great, but if this is a tool that you have little or no experience with then training is key. Hands on with someone who is skilled in chain saw use is best, but if you don't have access to anyone like that then YouTube can be very helpful. If you like I can post up some links to some videos that may be helpful.

I have used one before.
A few  years ago I worked in wood machine shop, many of the machines were very large and could cut timber upto 10x8 of any length, so yes I'm used to working with tools safely

Could be the chainsaw. 

Like the idea Les. A good use for the old pallets.  We used to have to send them back, some we still do, but we get a lot they don't want back and we have to dispose of.
