CentOS EOL
« on: December 12, 2020, 12:08:06 PM »
RedHat announced it will stop all support for CentOS at the end of 2021. They are migrating to a streamed version and everyone is pissed off! :(

https://blog.centos.org/2020/12/future-is-centos-stream/

However, Cloud Linux and others are forking it since it is open source...

Got a tip from vbGamer45. :)

https://linux.oracle.com/switch/centos/

Oracle has forked it to make the change easy...so they say...

Quote
Switch from CentOS to Oracle Linux

This script is designed to automatically switch a CentOS instance to Oracle Linux by removing any CentOS-specific packages or replacing them with the Oracle Linux equivalent.
Supported versions

This script currently supports switching CentOS Linux 6, CentOS Linux 7 and CentOS Linux 8. It does not support CentOS Stream.
