I Can Breathe Again!
« on: Yesterday at 03:34:13 PM »
Hello my to my OFF Family!
This is a brief summary of my treatments of note in the recent weeks.

The biggest event is the course of radiation treatment that I just finished.
The next one comes in as a very close second, the Left Thoracentesis that I just completed this past Wednesday.
------------------------------

The biggest(?)
As you may recall, in these past several months, I've had an ongoing issue with severe pain in my left side. Finally, after lots of scans and exams it was learned that there was a spot of cancer cells in one of my ribs, up near my left shoulder blade. So it was decided to treat the rib with radiation, and those five treatments were completed this past Monday. It will be a while before we are able to see what the results of the radiation will be, and hopefully this result will be good, like the treatments that they gave me last year.
---------------------------------

The next one:
In recent mounts, going well back into 2024, fluid has been building up in my left lung 'sack' and the short term treatment for that has been to drain the fluid off and this past Wednesday, 1/8/25, we pulled out another 2 liters. Leading up to the thoracentesis treatment, my breathing had become progressively worse and gotten to the point where a walk from one room to another would require a recovery period of several minutes, and so my mobility had become very limited. Then, after the treatment, the results were like night and day, I could breathe without distress again!
The reasons for waiting so long were the other events and treatments that have occurred in these past months, lots of things going on, but for now I seem to be all caught up, so I can catch a breath for now... literally!

I am SO glad that you can breathe again! Because the last time I talked to you on the phone it truly scared me, TBH!

I am VERY happy for you!!!   :D
